Train services restored after Naxal attack
Ranchi, Mar 14 (UNI) Train services on the Barwadih-Barkakhana section of the Eastern-Central railway was restored this morning after the release of the passenger train captured by armed Naxalites, according to railway sources.
Police said the bogies of the 628-down Barkakhan-Dehri-Mugalsarai passenger train, bore bullet marks but no one was injured or abducted.
The train was captured in a thick forest areas in between Kamandih and Hehegarha stations under the cover of darkness late last evening.
It was seized after the end of a dawn-to-dusk bandh called by the CPI(Maoists) in Palamu, Garwah and Latehar districts.
The bandh had failed to evoke much response.
The CPI(Maoist) had called the bandh after its area commanders were killed in an encounter last week and one ultra was arrested.
Incidentally, the attack took place on March 12 which marks the completion BJP-led NDA state government's one year in power.
