Tourism plan for Konkan region on the anvil

Mumbai, Mar 14 (UNI) Maharashtra government is preparing a development plan to boost tourism in the Konkan region.

Tourism minister Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil and Finance MInister Jayant Patil along with senior officials held extensive discussions at Mantralaya today on various measures to boost tourism in the region.

Finance Minister Jayant Patil stressed on the need to utilise funds of the 12th Finance Commission in a planned manner while Tourism Minister Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil suggested holding tourism festivals in all districts of the region.

Focus would be on improving the sea route and the Konkan railway to improve tourism in the Konkan region.
