TFA among six teams to qualify for Fed Cup

Jamshedpur, Mar 14 (UNI) Tata Football Academy (TFA),have qualified for the prestigious Federation Cup for the first time since its inception in 1987.

TFA and other five teams, who qualified to play the final phase of the second division National Football League, have managed to make it among the 16 teams that would compete for the Cup.

Playing in their home turf TFA bagged nine points from five matches and topped the league table in Group A.

Lauding the boys for this achievment, TFA Chief Satish Pillai said, ''All credit goes to the boys. Now we will concentrate hard to play well in the final phase in Bangalore and hope to qualify to the first division of NFL''.

TFA so far produced 110 players of whom 81 had represented the country and many of them played for the several front-rank teams including the prestigious clubs like East Bengal and Mohan Bagan.
