TDP member reprimanded for making allegation against CM
Hyderabad, Mar 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy today reprimanded TDP member Ch Ayyannapatrudu for making an allegation against Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy without prior notice.
The Speaker reminded the member that when a serious charge was sought to be made in the House, there was need for prior notice.
Ayyanna Patrudu, a former Forest Minister, alleged that a person, who claimed to be a relative of Dr Reddy, was organising smuggling of forest produce on a large scale from Kadapa, the native district of the Chief Minister.
Minister Satrucharla Vijaya Rama asked the TDP member if he would own responsibility for all crimes committed by people of his caste.
Minister for Finance and Legislative Affairs Mr K Rosaiah also took strong exception to the member making the allegation.
The Speaker told members they should not make any charge against those who were not in the House and could not defend themselves. He also cautioned them that they should exercise restraint while making allegations against others, more so when it concerned the Leader of the House. He ordered the remarks of the TDP member expunged from the record.
