SAI masseur suspended for alleged sex assault, faces court tomorrow
Melbourne, Mar 14 (UNI) The masseur, who disgraced the country by allegedly sexually assaulting a teenager at the Commonwealth Games Village, has been suspended from the Indian contingent today and will appear in the magistrate's court here tomorrow.
Though chef-de-mission of the Indian contingent H J Dora and local police refused to disclose the name of the accused, masseur from Sports Authority of India (SAI), Patiala, Diwan Asghar Nabi was later identified as the man behind the alleged sexual assault.
Taking a firm and decisive action, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has removed him from the Games Village and his accreditation card has been handed over to the Commonwealth Games Federation pending the judicial decision.
