Rains, hailstorm mar Holi spirit in Rajasthan
Jaipur, Mar 14 (UNI) An overcast sky and rains in Jaipur have marred the festive spirit of Holi in Rajasthan.
With a sharp drop in temperatures and accompanying rains and cool breeze today, the weather has proved a dampener for shopkeepers who were hopeful of last minute purchases by the people. The bazaars are empty and vendors are sitting idle with no shoppers in sight in most bazaars.
With exams on and a dip in temperatures, people are prefering to stay indoors and are not likely to indulge themselves too much during Holi this year.
Jaipur recorded a minimum of 18 degree celsius in the morning today while it was 16 degree Celsius in Jodhpur, 15 in Bikaner, 17 in Jaisalmer and Udaipur and 16 in Ganganagar.
A Hailstorm, accompanied with squalls hit Alwar and surrounding areas. The city weather office has predicted more rains and thundershowers over the next 24 hours in the state.
