Bhagalpur (Bihar), Mar 14: District administration today (Mar 14, 2006) raided the Bhagalpur central jail including the ward of incarcerated controversial Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Mohammad Shahabuddin following the alleged threatening call made by him on a mobile phone of Siwan based businessman.
Official sources said a squad of local police under the leadership of district magistrate Bipin Kumar and police superintendent G.S. Gangwar raided the jail and also searched the ward of Mohammad Shahabuddin. Nothing incriminating was found during the raid.
After the raid, officials also reviewed the security arrangement of the jail and issued necessary directives to the concerned authorities, sources added.
Earlier, a businessman of Siwan had filed against Mohammad Shahabuddin charging him with making threatening call on his mobile phone.
