Petroleum Minister for settling issue of pay parity

New Delhi, Mar 14 (UNI) The Petroleum and Gas Workers Federation of India today said that Petroleum Minister Murli Deora has directed the ministry to convene a meeting for settling the issue of merger of Dearness Allowance with basic pay.

General Secretary Swadesh Dev Roye said the Minister had wide ranging discussions with the union leaders. The Federation also submitted to the Minister the anti-privatisation stand of the workers and also highlighted the plight of the contract workers at the meeting.

CPI(M) member Dipankar Mukherjee was also present at the meeting.
