Order on Daya Nayak's bail reserved for March 16

Mumbai, Mar 14 (UNI) The Special ACB court today reserved its order on the bail application of suspended encounter specialist Daya Nayak and his associate Rajendra Padte, arrested in connection with a disproportionate assets case against the police officer, till March 16.

Special ACB judge S P Mahajan heard the arguments from both the defence and the prosecution on Nayak's bail plea as well as on where to keep him in in judicial custody, but reserved her order for Thursday.

Defence counsel Shirish Gupte argued that both Nayak and Padte are in their custody for the past 24 days in the disproportionate assets case, but since March 6, there has been no interrogation.

Hence, they should be granted bail.

However, opposing the bail plea, public prosecutor R V Kini said that investigating agency had come across vital information regarding huge money transactions outside the country by Nayak after the recovery of the CPU of his computer from Goa recently.
