No advertising ban around World Cup stadiums

BERLIN, Mar 14 (Reuters) There will be no advertising ban around the 12 World Cup stadiums during the finals in Germany from June 9 to July 9, organisers said today.

Logos from firms not among the official FIFA partners will be permitted on perimeter boards, the local organising committee said in releasing its guidelines.

There will, however, be ''controlled areas'' around the stadiums where events and marketing operations outside the World Cup programme will be banned on match days and the days before games.

There will be no rule on clothing and activities related to advertising but giving away samples or leaflets will be banned inside the controlled areas. That ban also applies to the official partners.

Restaurants and bars around the stadiums will be able to serve the food and beer they usually propose.
