Kochi, Mar 14 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today expressed satisfaction that the state government was proceeding against the people who were in possession of government land at K D H and Mankulam villages on the basis of bogus 'pattayams'.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice V K Bali and Justice J B Koshy disposed of a writ petition filed by 'One Earth One Life', seeking a CBI inquiry into the bogus 'pattayams'. They siad the government would adhere to the stance reflected in the affidavit filed by the district collector of Idukki.

The Idukki district collector submitted that an expert committee had been constituted for unearthing the bogus 'pattayams' in Davikulam taluk by verification of all 'pattayams' in KDH and Mankulam villages.

He informed the court that many encroachers had been evicted.

In order to verify the genuineness of 'pattayams', a joint verification is being conducted by forest and revenue officials.

A clear picture will be obtained only on the submission of the expert committee report, he added.
