Fresh cases of birdflu in Maharashtra
Bhopal, Mar 14 (UNI) The state capital-based High Security Animal Disease Laboratory (HSADL) tonight confirmed presence of deadly H5N1 strain of bird flu virus in four samples from Jalgaon district in Maharashtra.
HSADL Director H K Pradhan told UNI here the laboratory has sent its report to the Centre in this regard.
He said so far 22-23 samples from Maharashtra and adjoining areas in Gujarat has been tested positive.
Mr Pradhan said the laboratory has tested 20,000 samples in the past three months in view of birdflu. So far, the HSADL has tested more than 40,000 samples.
