Four Bills passed by Manipur Assembly

Imphal, Mar 14 (UNI) The Manipur assembly last night passed four Bills.

The Bills were Manipur Municipality (Fourth Amendment) Bill 2006, Manipur Public Servants Personal Liability Bill 2006, Loktak Lake Protection Bill 2006 and the Manipur Hill Areas District Councils (Second Amendment) Bill 2006.

The Public Servants Bill envisages to impose personal liability on public servants, including ministers, for irregular actions.

The Hill Areas District Council Bill will empower hill district councils and the Loktak Lake Bill was to preserve one of the biggest fresh water lakes in the continent.
