DPCC chief and MPs seek regularisation of unauthorised colonies

New Delhi, Mar 14 (UNI) Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President R B Sharma and five MPs from the capital today wrote to Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy seeking regularisation of unauthorised colonies in the city.

In a letter, signed by Mr Kapil Sibal, Mr Jagdish Tytler, Mr R K Anand, Mr Sajjan Kumar, and Ms Krishna Tirath besides Mr Sharma, to Mr Jaipal Reddy they said the party in its manifesto during the 2003 Assembly polls had promised to get all such colonies regularised, a DPCC statement said.

They also sought widening the limit and scope of 'lal dora' areas in the capital's urban and rural villages to accommodate the increasing population.

The steps would go a long way in allowing the people living in such areas to live peacefully and comfortably without being harassed by the government agencies.
