Closed-circuit TV, camera to be installed in major railway stations

Mumbai, Mar 14 (UNI) The Railway authorities have decided to instal closed circuit TV and cameras at important railway stations, both under Central and Western Railways, in the wake of discovery of bomb at suburban Byculla station on March 11.

Commissioner of Government Railway Police Suresh Khopade said ''the decision is in the final stage and it will be implemented soon.'' Mr Khopade said that the TVs and cameras would be installed at CST, Churchgate, Mumbai Central and Bandra stations initially.

Explosive material was found in a water bottle in a toilet at the Byculla railway station on March 11.

Police suspected the material was similar to that used in the Sankat Mochan Temple blast in Varanasi.
