Bogies bear bullet marks

Ranchi, Mar 14 (UNI) The bogies of the passenger train, which was captured by the Naxalites last night, bore bullet marks, according to police here.

''However, no passenger was injured or abducted by the ultras. The exact number of the ultras involved in the incident was not known as the train was captured in a thick forest area under the cover of darkness,'' police said.

Senior civil and police officials rushed to the area this morning and launched combing operations.

The Barwadih-Mugalsarai passenger train was held up by armed naxals between Kamandih and Hehegarh railway stations in Jharkhand's Latehar district last night.

The train was released in the early hours today after about 12 hours.
