BJP accuses LDF and UDF of promoting corruption
Kochi, Mar 14 (UNI) BJP Kerala president P S Sridharan Pillai today accused the UDF and LDF of ''joining hands to scuttle the probe'' into several corruption cases in the state and said his party will ''expose'' this in the coming assembly elections.
Reeling out several such cases, including the SNC Lavalin, Matsyafed, Brahmapuram, Kottayam cooperative bank and lower Periyar scams,, Mr Pillai said, at a press conference here that there should be a probe by some central agency into these.
Mr Pillai also accused the two Fronts of indulging in ''minority appeasement'' and claimed that the CPI(M) had decided not to project Leader of the Opposition V S Achuthanandan as its chief ministerial candidate due to such considerations.
Asserting that the BJP was ''set to make significant gains'' in the next month's assembly election, Mr Pillai said the ''party's voice will be heard in the legislative assembly this time''.
Stating that the BJP had garnered a 12.5 per cent vote share in the last assembly polls, Mr Pillai said even a two to three per cent increase would see the party making sizeable gains in the assembly.
Unlike the other two Fronts, there were no divisions in the BJP and the party would fight the elections unitedly, he added.
