New Delhi, Mar 14: Home Minister Shivraj Patil today (Mar 14, 2006) informed the Lok Sabha that India has sought from Pakistan the extradition of as many as 103 of the total 250 offenders, who had reportedly crossed over to that country.

However, Pakistan has been maintaining that persons wanted by India are no longer lodged in that country, he added.

Replying to a query, Mr Patil said ''Red Corner Notices have been issued on the request of various investigating agencies in respect of 250 offenders and circulated through Interpol Secretariat General (IPSG) during the last three years.'' ''Look Out Circulars have also been issued against these wanted persons and disseminated to all entry and exit points of the country,'' he added.

Besides, nine fugitives have been brought from five countries to India in the past three years, and efforts are on to extradite 22 wanted criminals from 11 foreign countries.
