WB criminal declared dead traced leading happy life in Orissa
Sambalpur, Mar 13(UNI) In a amazing incident, a man involved in series of crimes in West Bengal and declared dead five years back was found leading a happy married life in this western Orissa town.
The man identified as Sk Abdul Rahim Ali alias Munna(33) of village Koyadangi under Panchkura police station in East Midnapur district of West Bengal was arrested by the Aintha police here late Saturday night.
According to the police, Munna was among the five accused of killing a youth of Panchkura in 2000.
However, this was not the only crime Munna had committed in his native land. Several criminal cases were pending against him in the court of East Midnapur. He was also accused of torturing his wife Sofia Begum who he married in 1997.
Police said after the murder in 2000, he left for Sambalpur to evade police action. His father Sk Fazul Rehman arranged a death certificate for Munna.
The Panchkura police not only accepted the certificate without verification but closed all the pending cases against him.
During his stay at Sambalpur, Munna married a divorcee lady of Hirakud. They have two children and were staying at Mungapara in Khetrajpur under Ainthapali police station while working as a carpenter.
Recently when a man from his native village saw him at Mungapara few days back and informed the matter to Sofia at Panchkura. The police on the basis of a search warrant from Midnapur court arrested him. He was later produced at Sambalpur court to be transferred to Midnapur later, police said.
