New Delhi, Mar 13: Leading air-conditioning and engineering services company of the Tata Group Voltas Ltd, today launched a new range economical of window and split ACs, targetted at the masses.
With a 16 per cent market share at present, Voltas through its latest market launch is aiming to grab a 20 per cent market share during the financial, Year 2006-07, to become the leading Indian company in the air-conditioning space.
Besides, the company also unveiled its new marketing campaign for 2006 -- ''India Ka Dil, India Ka AC'' nationally, while announcing its multi-pronged strategy to attain 20 per cent market share of the 12.5 lakh domestic air conditioner units market.
''We have earmarked Rs 20 crore as marketing expenses in addition to Rs 6 crore for retail expansion. Over and above the advertising spends and other below-the-line activities, we would be looking at adding 1,500 dealers making it a total of 3,500 nationally, apart from strengthening our franchisee spread from 350 to 500 this year,'' Voltas Ltd Unitary Products Business Group (UPBG) Senior-vice president K J Jawa told reporters here.
Mr Jawa added that ''the present effort in the markets is to reach out to the masses -- 'Aam Aadmi', identify supply-demand gaps and provide products to fill them.'' The two products -- Vertis Premium Window ACs and Vertis Gold -- are priced betweem Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000 and are targetted at the masses.
