VHP workers force offloading of 1500 cattle from train

Jaipur, Mar 13 (UNI) Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal workers today forced offloading of 1500 cattle from a goods train at Narena village near Jaipur, saying they were being taken for slaughter.

According to police, the goods train was emptied and 1500 cows and calves were taken to police station. The cattle belonged to Dorawi village in Ajmer district and were being transported to Chhattisgarh.

Maharaj Dattsharnanand of Pathmedha Gaushala (Cowpen) in Jalore and workers of other Hindu organisations followed the train and demanded that it be emptied when it stopped at Narena village.

The situation became tense when their demands became vociferous as they feared these cattles were being taken for slaughter. A number of police personnel were deployed at the spot.

However, those taking the cattle had permit for about 1200 cows but had to bow down.
