Varanasi police team leaves for Gwalior after ISI spy arrest

Varanasi, Mar 13 (UNI) Close on the heels of the arrest of an ISI spy in Gwalior, a team of Varanasi police, left for the Madhya Pradesh city this evening to ascertain any possible links between the arrested and the twin blasts here on March seven.

Senior Superintendent of Police G K Goswami said here a police team has left for Gwalior this evening immediately after getting information of the arrest from the counterparts in the MP city.

The police will try and ascertain connections, if any, between the arrested and the twin blasts at Sankat Mochan temple and Varanasi railway station, he added.

A sleeper spy of ISI, Madhav Singh was arrested from the Brijvihar Colony area in Gwalior along with maps of defence organisations and sensitive photographs.

The arrested was under intense surveillance following the Varanasi blast, police sources said.
