Two killed, militant hideout busted in Kashmir
Srinagar, Mar 13 (UNI) Two people were killed by militants while security forces busted two hideouts and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition including RDX, bombs and grenades in the Kashmir valley overnight, an official spokesman said here today.
He said militants abducted and later hanged to death one Imtiaz Ahmad Bhat at Urpash forest in Ganderbal this morning.
Another body was recovered from Kulgam in south Kashmir district of Anantnag, he said.
The spokesman said police on a tip off conducted a search operation at Nijwan Kangan last night. After the search police party unearthed a hideout and recovered 30 kg RDX, two rockets, seven detonators, one Improvised Explosive Device (IED), four IED junctions and one UBGL grenade. However, no one was arrested, he said.
He said in another successful operation, police raided a house at Narastan in south Kashmir district of Pulwama and recovered four 52 mm bombs, eight grenades, two UBGL grenades and 120 rounds of ammunition.
