Two held for betting on India-England match

New Delhi, Mar 13 (UNI) The Delhi Police have busted a major racket in betting on cricket matches and one dayers with the arrest of two people involved in betting on the second test match between India and England and the One dayer between Australia and South Africa.

The two, Charanjit paul and Murli Kumar, were arrested from the Shalimar Bagh residence of the latter yesterday while they were carrying out betting on the test match and the one dayer between Australia and South Africa.

Interrogation of the two revealed that they booked the bettings through mobile phones. Four mobile phones, two landline phones and more than Rs 4000 cash was recovered from their possession.

Police said the links of the two persons with larger syndicates of match betting were being probed.
