New Delhi, Mar 13 (UNI) The tussle between the BJP and Janata Dal (United) to strike an understanding on the fourth Rajya Sabha seat in Bihar are still continuing with both sides not ready to give up the claim over the fourth seat.

Technically, the two parties have enough MLAs to easily win fourth Rajya Sabha seat but the two parties who are running the Bihar Government are yet to decide who has to claim the seat. The JD (U) can clearly win two RS seats and have surplus votes for the third seat and the BJP on its own can win one seat and has surplus seats for the second seat.

The JD (U) Legislature Party has authorised Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to negotiate and decide upon the candidates whereas BJP General Secretary Arun Jaitley and Ravi Shankar Prasad are doing the talking for the party. The BJP has already announced Mr Prasad's name for the first seat whereas the JD (U) is yet to name its candidates.

"Firstly, the two parties should settle the claim and the candidates names is secondary," informed sources said.
