TTK to forge alliance with parties offering more seats
Chennai, Mar 13 (UNI) Tamil Thesia Katchi (TTK), a political forum of the Kongu Vellala Gounders Peravai, will forge an alliance with parties which offer them more seats in the May eight elections to the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
Talking to newspersons here soon after the joint meeting of the Peravai and Federation of Kongu Villa Gounders Association, held here yesterday, Peravai's State President, Tiruchi R Devarajan said a resolution to this effect was adopted at the meeting.
He said If any political front did not come forward to offer them more seats, the TTK would field its own candidates in 72 assembly constituencies, spread over eight revenue districts in Tamil Nadu.
Mr Devarajan said the TTK was holding talks with both the ruling AIADMK and the DMK front, for forging an alliance with them, and hoped a favourable situation would emerge in a couple of days.
The TTK would not hesitate to forge an alliance with the BJP or the newly formed Dravida Desiya Murpokku Kazhagam ( DDMK), founded by actor-turned politician Vijaykanth.
