Kohima, Mar 13 (UNI) Mizoram Governor A R Kohli today emphasised the need of more exposure of traditional paintings using indigenous paints and exchange of such traditions with the other parts of the country.
Inaugurating the national level traditional painting workshop here today, where 18 traditional painters of the country are participating, including the north zone cultural centre and south zone cultural centre, Mr kohli said that India is a country with multiple civilizations and rich traditions, which urgently needs to be exposed to the world.
Mr kohli hoped that this three-day long workshop will provide opportunities to the painters from outside the region to appreciate the traditional paintings.
Speaking on the occasion, Nagaland Governor Shyamal Datta said that the workshop will pave the way to discover the hiding treasure of art in the region.
