Three school childrens drowned in Kothacheruvu

Chittoor, Mar 13 (UNI) Three school students, including two girls, were drowned in a water tank at Vayalpadu Mandal in the district today.

The incident occured when the school children, all below 14 years, ventured to in the tank for swimming, Vayalpadu Sub-Inspector Chandrashaker told UNI.

Some of the villagers who passed near the tank saw the clothes of the children and informed village elders.

Based on the complaint by the village elders, police conducted search operations and retrieved the bodies from the tank, the SI said.

The bodies were indentified as Harish Kumar Reddy (14), Aruna (11) (both belonging to one family) and Silpa (9). All three bodies were sent for postmortem, SI added.
