Escorts of MLA killed in shoot out

Imphal, Mar 13: Three Manipur Rifles personnel, escorts of Mr B D Behring, MLA, were killed in firing, following a brawl between the legislator's security personnel late last night, police today said.

The elder brother of Mr Behring and another jawan were also injured in the firing.

Police said a brawl started among the security personnel at the MLA's official residence in Minuthong when he was not there.

While Havildar Momon was found shot dead near his bed, Paominthang and Mona Vaiphei were found dead near the Havildar. Two SLRs were also lying near them. The injured had been rushed to the hospital, where they were stated to be out of danger. Police said they were investigating the incident.
