Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly today lifted the six month suspension of three BJP MLAs, who had used derogatory words against Deputy Speaker Pramod Shende during the Winter Session in Nagpur in December last year.

A resolution moved by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harshvardhan Patil cutting short the suspension period was adopted unanimously by a voice vote.

The three BJP MLAs- Eknath Khadse, Girish Mahajan and Sudhir Mungantiwar--were suspended for six months on December 13 last year when they used derogatory language against Mr Shende in the Speaker's chamber.

They were incensed that the Deputy Speaker had allowed a tuling coalition member to speak on the ''Cash for Questions'' scam involving some BJP MPs from Maharashtra when the Speaker had disallowed any mention of the same. They were suspended for six months from the membership of the House which prevented them from even entering the Vidhan Bhavan premises.
