Stage and film artist Vallam Narasimha Rao dead

Hyderabad, Mar 13 (UNI) Well-known stage and film artist Vallam Narasimha Rao, died here this morning following cardiac arrest.

He was 70 and is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Narasimha Rao was a member of 'Praja Natya Mandali' of the CPI and participated in several party programmes. He had acted in patriotic stage plays during the British rule and suffered imprisonment.

In 1952 he migrated to Chennai from Tiruvuru in Krishna district and made his mark in the tinsel world. He acted in several films, including 'Kula Deivam' and 'Muddu Bidda', which won critical acclaim and box-office success. 'Indra', featuring mega star Chiranjeevi was his last film.

Leading film artistes paid their last tributes to him at his residence and consoled the bereaved family.
