Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) Former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya today charged that work on Mithi river is yet to begin, even as monsoon is just 78 days away.

Talking to reporters here, Dr Somaiya alleged that there was complete lack of coordination among various government agencies and the government has so far been unable to find the place where 5,000 tonnes silt or mud could be dumped.

He demanded that single authority be formed to save, protect and rejuvinate Mithi river and asked government to work on a war footing and also publish its report fortnightly.

The flooding of Mithi river in July last year had thrown Mumbai out of gear.
