Sixty shops gutted in Cooch Behar

Cooch Behar, Mar 13 (UNI) At least 60 shops were gutted in a blaze that broke out in a Dakghara bazar this evening in Mathabanga in the district.

Upon primary investigation, it was detected that property and goods worth approximately Rs 10 lakh were destroyed in the fire. The fire continued for more than three hours.

Two fire engines were pressed into service to douse the flame, the sources added.

Police said a short circuit could have caused the fire.
