Six bootleggers, including five women, arrested on Holi eve
New Delhi, Mar 13 (UNI) Six people, including five women, have been arrested by the Delhi Police from various areas of North East Delhi for possession of huge quantities of illicit liquor, as part of its efforts to check bootlegging on the eve of the Holi festival.
The six were arrested by the North East District police on Saturday and yesterday under its special drive to nab bootleggers.
While two women, Pinki and Geeta, were arrested from the Babarpur area yesterday with five litre each of illicit liquor, two others, Neena and Kaushalya were arrested from M S Park on Saturday with 40 quarters each of illicit liquor.
Of the other, one, Kanta was arrested from Ashok Nagar with 40 quarters of illicit liquor while another, Dharam Pal was arrested from Bhagpat district in UP with 12 bottles of illicit liquor.
The police have also arrested one Saabir from Seelampur area while he was in possession of a country made pistol with one live cartridge.
