Singhal gives a call for ending ''untouchability''

Kanpur, Mar 13 (UNI) Working president of VHP Ashok Singhal today called for an end to the menace of untouchability to prevent the division of Indian Society.

Addressing the felicitation programme of doctors here Mr Singhal said foreign powers were hell bent at dividing the Indian society for their setfish interests.

''Social evils such as untouchability make the society vulnerable to the onslaught of the aliens,'' he maintained.

Mr Singhal also appealed the rich class of the society to provide financial assistance to poor students for realising their dream of becoming doctors, engineers and other professionals.

On the killings of innocent population by terrorists, naxalites and maoists extremists in Nepal and India, Mr Singhal claimed a total of 18 extremist outfits including Islamic fundamentalists from across the border had focused on breaking the unity of Hindus in the country through terror acts.
