Salman's body guard Ravindra Patil in judicial custody

Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) A local court today remanded Ravindra Patil, the former body guard of Bollywood star Salman Khan and the prime witness in the cine star's hit-and-run case, to judicial custody till March 16.

The next hearing the hit-and-run case involving Salman has been posted before the Bandra court on March 16 when Patil would be cross examined.

Patil, a suspended police constable, after attending the court proceedings on February 6 did not turn up for the next five consecutive hearings which led the court issuing a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against him.

Following the issuance of NBW, police had finally tracked him down and arrested him from the hill station of Mahabaleshwar on March eleven.

Ravindra Patil, who was accompanying Salman as police bodyguard in the car which met with the mishap, had earlier deposed before the court that he wad warned the actor not to drive rashly or else he would meet with an accident, but he did not pay heed to his advice.

Salman's Land Cruiser, which had crashed into a bakery in the Western suburb of Bandra had claimed the life of one person and injured four others in 2002.
