Rashtriya Mahasabha not to vote for LDF

Written by: Staff

Kannur, Kerala, Mar 13 (UNI) The 'Rashtriya Mahasabha', an organisation for the welfare of Adivasis in Kerala, will take an anti-LDF stand in the coming Assembly elections, its State General Secretary M Geethanandan said today.

Talking to newspersons here, he alleged that the CPI(M) was trying to scuttle the rehabilitation programmes. The decision was because of LDF's negative approach towards the Adivasis.

Though he had not mentioned whether they would support the UDF or not, the Adivasi leader said besides taking various steps for their welfare, the UDF government distributed 12,500 acres of land to them.

Regarding contesting elections, he said the Mahasabha would take a decision at a meeting at Kochi on March 16 whether to contest the elections on their own.
