Randhawa, Shiv Kapur move up; Atwal static in golf ranking
New Delhi, Mar 13 (UNI) Thanks to his tied seventh finish in the OSIM Singapore Masters yesterday, Jyoti Randhawa climbed two places to 105th place in the latest Official World Golf Rankings issued today.
Randhawa (1.31) looks like finding the touch he is known for after some disappointing outings and the Singapore event saw him improving with every round.
Meanwhile, despite missing the cut in the Honda Classic at Miami -- something very unusual for someone who had just one such setback in the entire last season -- Arjun Atwal (1.12) hangs on to his 132nd place but breathing down his neck was the exciting Indian talent Shiv Kapur, just two rungs down.
Shiv (1.10) had a poor outing in Singapore when he finished at the bottom but the Indian has no dearth of talents and it's just a matter of time before he finds going smooth.
Veteran Jeev Milkha Singh (.41) languishes at 336th after a string of poor shows.
Korean Choi Kyung-Ju (2.68) remains the highest ranked Asian at 37.
Luke Donald (4.90), winner of the Honda Classic broke into the Top 10 for the first time as he climbed two spots.
Meanwhile, Tiger Woods now enjoys a 9.28 average point lead over Vijay Singh at the top of the table.
Top 10: 1. Tiger Woods, USA (18.12) 2. Vijay Singh, Fiji (8.84) 3. Retief Goosen, South Africa (7.77) 4. Phil Mickelson, USA (7.27) 5. Ernie Els, South Africa (7.15) 6. Sergio Garcia, Spain (6.75) 7. David Toms, USA (5.53) 8. Jim Furyk, USA (5.38) 8. 9. Adam Scott, Aus (5.20) 10. Luke Donald, Eng (4.90).
