Police probe assault claim in Games village
MELBOURNE, Mar 13 (Reuters) Australian police said today they were looking into allegations that a teenager worker at the Commonwealth Games athletes' village had been indecently assaulted.
''It's against a 16-year-old, it allegedly happened at 10 a.m. this morning (0430 IST),'' a police spokesman said.
The spokesman would not comment on a Nine Network television report that an athlete was involved.
Mike Cooper, the Games' chief executive officer, told Reuters by telephone: ''I haven't heard anything about that so cannot comment''.
The village in suburban Melbourne will be home for 4,500 athletes and 1,500 officials during the March 15-26 Games.
