Srinagar, Mar 13 (UNI) A three-day art and photo exhibition by the trauma victims of the devastating earthquake of October 8 last year and the inpatients of the Government Hospital for Psychiatric Diseases began here today.

The exhibition, being organised by Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF - doctors without borders), would be held at the Conference Hall of the Kashmir University here.

The exhibition will allow the people to get an insight in trauma, its manifestations and ways of coping.

On March 15, the MSF would organise an open seminar to raise awareness on mental health issues and to know more about stress and how it affects one's life.

The MSF is a private, medical and humanitarian organisation, which works in many countries for populations in distress and victims of natural disaster and armed conflict.

The MSF is running an integrated basic healthcare programme in Srinagar, Budgam and Kupwara areas of the Kashmir valley where it offers counselling and psycho-education to aware the people about psychosocial and mental health issues.
