Oppn demands Govt's apology on derogatory reference to Tukaram
Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) Opposition parties in Maharashtra today demanded an apology from Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil for the''derogatory'' remarks on Sant Tukaram in the recent class XII examination question paper.
All Opposition legislators, accompanied by Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ramdas Kadam, his counterpart in the Upper House Pandurang Phundkar, BJP leader Gopinath Munde and State Unit President Nitin Gadkari entered the Vidhan Bhawan when Governor S M Krishna was to address the joint session of the Legislature and shouted slogans against the government.
They also demanded that the CM and the DyCM bow at the 'samadhi' of Sant Tukaram at Dehu in Pune district.
