One Congress and two TC leaders arrested

Purulia, Mar 13 (UNI) Counsellor of Congress and Opposition leader of Purulia municipality Sakil Ahmed, along with two Trinamool Congress(TC) leaders Sudip Mukherjee and Biman Sarkar, have been arrested last night for allegedly beating up a shop owner and his employee and also few police personnel.

They were produced today in Purulia court, charged with six cases under section 143, 356, 357, 362, 363 and 365.

Chief Judicial Magistrate incharge Ataur Rehman granted them interim bail and directed them to appear again on March 27.
