New party floated in TN
Tiruchiapalli, Mar 13 (UNI) A new political party, Dravida Makkal Viduthalai Katchi(DMVK) was floated to protect the rights of Arunthathiyar Community in Tamil Nadu.
Talking to newspersons here last night after the executive committee meeting of the party, DMVK Founder Urandai Velusamy said the party would strive for political representation for the one crore-strong community.
Mr Velusamy said reservation for Arunthathiyars in education and employment, apart from integrating all Dalit associations, in order to protect their rights, were the main demands of the party.
The party had decided to field its candidates in the ensuing assembly poll in Tamil Nadu, he added.
