Krishna Iyengar passes away

Bangalore, Mar 13 (UNI) Veteran freedom fighter N Krishna Iyengar passed away here today.

He was 98. He is survived by four sons, including Doordarshan Kolkata Station Additional Director N K Mohanram and renowned journalist S Sridhar, and four daughters.

Dr Iyengar had participated in the Quit India Movement and was jailed on several occasions. He was a recipient of the Karnataka government's Freedom Fighters Award.

A doctor by profession, he had dedicated his life for social work.
