International seminar on ''Kerala History'' soon
Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 13: The Kerala Council for Historical Research (KCHR) will organise an International seminar on ''Kerala History'' here on March 16.
The three-day seminar would take stock of the historical writing on Kerala, identify the missing links and point out new directions, a KCHR release said here today.
It is also intended to provide a plaftform for scholars and researchers worldwide to interact and learn through comparative perspective, the release added.
The seminar would discuss 45 research papers presented in five different sessions.
The theme papers represent the domains of Political, Economic, Social and Cultural-intellectual histories, would be presented by Kesavan Veluthat, Michael Tharakan, Rajan Gurukkal and K N Ganesh respectively.
Renowned scholars R Champakalakshmy, Neeladri Bhattacharya, Deepankar Gupta, M S S Pandian and Dick Whittaker would preside over the various sessions.
