'IIMs should prepare common vision programme'
New Delhi, Mar 13: Government has advised the Indian Insitutes of Management (IIMs) to prepare a Common Vision document outlining the programme of all the IIMs for the 11th Five Year Plan, the Rajya Sabha was informed today (Mar 13, 2006).
Minister of State for Human Resources Development M A A Fatmi said in a written reply that ''it would be useful'' if all the IIMs prepare a Common Vision document.
He said the IIMs were governed by their respective Memorandum of Association. At present, the MOAs of IIMs do not empower them to establish campuses abroad. The institutes would have to suitabily amend their memorandum , as per prescribed procedure, before taking action to establish overseas campus, he said.
