Eight of family commit suicide

Lakhimpur Kheri, Mar 13 (UNI) At least eight members of a family allegedly committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance under Mitauli area here late last night, police today said.

The family -- resident of village Dateli, -- was allegedly upset over the love affair of one of the family members.

The deceased were identified as Ramkishan Patwa (45), his mother Ramkali (65), wife Savitri (44), sons Vineet (21), Vinay (17), Sunit (13), daughter Mohini and Mukesh.

Except for Mukesh, all of them died on the spot, the police added.
