Detention of suspects in Varanasi blasts continue

Hardoi, Mar 13: The six suspects arrested here in connection with the March 7 twin blasts in Varanasi continue to be lodged in police custody.

Police Superintendent Kashinath Singh said today the suspects; Gaju Ali, Sharafat Ali, Mukhtar Hussain, Ghulam Abbas, Abbas Ali and Jafar Ali were detained on Friday and were being kept at two separate places. All of them belong to Bihar.

Singh said two others, Ansar Ali and Sadiq Ali had already been handed over to Lucknow Police. The duo were later taken into custody by the Varanasi Police probing the blasts that killed at least 17 persons on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, the Special Task Force (STF) sleuths of Uttar Pradesh Police were expected to reach here to interrogate the six detainees.
