Court directs police to investigate charges against Hussain, Nafisa

Dahod, Gujarat, Mar 13 (UNI) Chief Judicial Magistrate First Class L P Chauhan here today directed the district police to 'immediately' investigate the allegations against noted artist M F Hussain and social activist Nafisa Ali for hurting religious sentiments of the people.

This was in response to a complaint filed by Vinod Kalidas (45), seeking arrest of the duo and action against them for portraying Hindu gods and goddesses in poor light, inciting religious feelings of the people in the wake of cartoon controversy raging round the world.

The case has been registered under Sections 153, 153 (A), 292, 295(A) and 505(2) of IPC and Section 114 of CrPC.
