CID questions Daya Nayak in Khawja Yunus case

Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) Maharashtra Crime Intelligence department(CID) today interrogated suspended encounter specialist Daya Nayak and recorded his statement in the Khawja Yunus case.

CID sources said that after obtaining the permission from the Special ACB court on March 10, they had questioned Daya Nayak in the Bhoiwada police lock-up today. They, however, refused to comment further.

The Special Court, in response to a CID plea, permitted the agency to question Nayak on any working day in the Bhoiwada police lock-up, where the suspended police officer has been kept under judicial custody for security reasons.

The CID had moved the application, after Daya Nayak, prior to surrendering in the disproportionate assets case registered against him by the ACB on January 20, had told the electronic media that he had certain information about Yunus' disappearance from custody.
